Leaked Guns N' Roses Tracks Give Fans Hope

Leaked Guns N' Roses Tracks Give Fans Hope...
Or give fans a big let down???
TrashyPantz loves the 80's, but I think I would rather remember the skinny, leather pant wearing, hip swaggering front man when he was at his best.

Concert dates in the US are in the rumor mill, but 2 European dates have been confirmed.
"Guns N’ Roses have been confirmed for for a summer gig in Dublin in June.
The rock giants will be joined by special guests Motley Crue for the concert on Friday, June 9 in the RDS Arena."
If you happen to be in the UK this summer:
"Download Festival - which takes place from Friday 9th until Sunday 11th June 2006, at Donington Park, Leicestershire - has confirmed more acts which will play across the weekend. With Metallica confirmed to headline on Saturday 10 June and Guns N’ Roses closing the festival on Sunday 11 June."

    GRAMMY review

Sorry for the delayed Grammy review. I caught up on the awards courtesy of my DVR and managed to watch the 3 1/2 hour show in about 35 minutes.
Ok... Here it goes. Short and Sweet. Highlights and Lowlights, TrashyPantz style.

    HIGHLIGHTS:
*John Legend wins Best New Artist and Male R&B Vocal Performance. If you have not listened to any of John Legend's music, you should (some songs are available on the sidebar). This is a man that deserves his award. His performance was great as well. Speaking of performances...

*Sly & The Family Stone Tribute. Sporting a giant blond Mohawk, dark Dior shades, Sly Stone made his first public appearance at the Grammy's since Jan. 12, 1993, when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Stone played "I Want to Take You Higher" behind a set of keyboards with his old band and some other nominated artists that night. The performance was sooooo bad. So why is this a highlight you ask? Well after about 45 seconds of playing his keyboard, Sly walked right off the stage!!!! The look on Steven Tyler's face was priceless and nobody knew what to do, so they all kept singing and yelling out Sly's name! Total highlight because this performance tanked... HARD.
*Kanye West's and Jamie Foxx's Gold Digger. Any performance that starts with its singer stating, "I've been here two years in a row, and if I don't win, there's gonna be a problem," is going to be good. Plus the fact that they were dressed up in full marching band regalia, that means good stuff to come. And it did. This was by far the most energetic and creative performance the whole night. Kanye West did end up winning Grammy's that night, so there were no problems to be made by Mr. West.

    LOWLIGHTS:
*The Black Eyed Peas win for Rap Performance by a Duo or Group: "Don't Phunk With My Heart." This is just crazy! They should win a Grammy for The Group that has Sold Out the Most, Group that has endorsed everything under the sun. Group that has the worst lyrics EVER (My Humps). But winning for actual musical talent? Maybe 5 years ago they should have won (Joints and Jams), both not now and not ever again!
*U2's performance. Have we not seen them play Vertigo on a bazillion different awards shows for the past 2 years? And then... Mary J. Blige joins them on a version of the song "One". Terrible. It was just as bas as...
*Paul McCartney joining Jay-Z and Linkin Park for a rendition of Yesterday. Some things just don't go together, like peanut butter and horseradish, and that performance had good intentions but just left a bad taste in your mouth (like I am sure peanut butter and horseradish would).
*Losing its luster? Only 12 out of the 108 awards given out in the 3 1/2 hour show! What is that all about? Have they forgotten that the Grammy's are about the music? The people that are watching are usually fans of music who have purchased music in stores or online (and sure, some illegally download it. Who really wants to pay 99 cents for anything that Xtina puts out?), but as usual the consumer gets the short end of the stick.

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby

Anyone want to take bets on what Watson's Halloween
    costume will be this year?

The film tells the story of NASCAR stock car racing sensation Ricky Bobby (Will Ferrell) whose "win at all costs" approach has made him a national hero. He and his loyal racing partner, childhood friend Cal Naughton Jr. (John C. Reilly), are a fearless duo -- dubbed "Thunder" and "Lightning" by their fans for their ability to finish so many races in the #1 and #2 positions, with Cal always in second place. When a flamboyant French Formula One driver, Jean Girard (Sacha Baron Cohen), challenges the "Thunder" and "Lightning" for the supremacy of NASCAR, Ricky Bobby must face his own demons and fight Girard for the right to be known as racing's top driver.

    Release Date: August 4th, 2006

    Happy Valentine's Day

    Happy Valentine's Day from Trashypantz!
Here is wishing you a happy, sweet and kinky day...which is apparently how Ken and Barbie are celebrating.

    The Bad Ass among us...

I was on my usual train ride home yesterday when i turned to look out the window and could not believe my eyes! Apparently Dubb gets bored on the Metro North trains when he comes to visit me and/or his sister and destroys MTA property!
Dubb is the bad ass among us.
