Tranist Strike Option, courtesy of employer:
We have received several inquiries about the availability of bicycle parking in the event of a transit strike. If the anticipated strike occurs, all subway and bus service in all five boroughs will be affected. In the event of such an occurrence, ********* Corporation will provide a secured space for bicycles of tenant employees in the locked mini-park directly behind The ********* Building.

little bit of history for you...

Ed Koch was mayor of New York City during the last transit strike.

Koch was pacing the floor in police headquarters in Lower Manhattan when he noticed thousands of New Yorkers walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. The walkers were determined to get to work, despite the transit strike.

Former Mayor Koch ran down onto the bridge and screamed at the crowds, "Keep walking New York, don't let the bastards shut us down."

Koch went to all bridges to encourage the walkers and bicyclists during the 11 days of the strike.

The former mayor modestly claims he, "kept the city running."

The 1980 transit strike started April 1 and ended April 11.

too bad i'm not old enough to really remember koch as mayor. i think i woulda liked the guy. :) - az
