TV TIME!

The Fall TV lineup is beginning soon and as a TV junkie of sorts, I thought I would give you a little rundown on what shows are starting when. There is a new addition to the weekly lineup that I think will be a hit, and conveniently enough it is on following the OC, so you don't even have to change the channel!
Click on the names of the shows for a direct link to it's webpage.
(in order of season debut, times are Eastern Standard Time)

ROME

Sunday, August 23rd @ 9pm on HBO
Interesting article in this weeks Entertainment Weekly about this show. It has takes 7 years to get it on TV, from concept to its debut this weekend, and has cost over $100 million dollars to make. There are many characters, so try to not give up to easily after the 1st episode, it will get easier, and Entertainment Weekly has in this weeks edition, a convenient breakdown of characters and relations to each other. It's just the best magazine ever, but that's a post for another time.

PRISON BREAK

Monday, August 29th @ 8pm on Fox
This show has some potential, could be one of those shows that has a great first episode and then it bombs out. Watch with caution, but it could provide some much needed entertainment on a dreary Monday night lineup (when there is no football, or bad matches you don't even want to watch).

My favorite night of the week, THURSDAY!!
THE O.C.
Thursday, September 8th @ 8pm on Fox
Apparently the gang are all going to run away...on a boat... It's an eerie de ja vu, but I don't care! Love the drama and hissy fights and the fight scenes that either knock down a buffet table or someone ends up in a pool! This show can get away with all of that, because it's The O.C. BITCH!

REUNION

Thursday, September 8th @ 10pm on Fox (right after The O.C.)
This is the show I think will be a tremendous hit for Fox, purely by grabbing the O.C. crowd, but also because it is set up much like another Fox hit, 24. Each episode is another year forward in the life of 6 friends, starting at the age of 18, trying to figure out a murder of one of their friends, and ends 2 decades later at the age of 38. This show might be the one and only time they can do this show, seeing that they aren't saving the world from nuclear annihilation and there is no Jack Bauer to figure it all out.

FAMILY GUY

Sunday, September 11th @ 9pm on Fox
New episodes of Family Guy. 'Nuff said.

PROGRAMMING NOTE!!!

The FX show RESCUE ME ends on September 13th. If you have not watched this show, you should. They say words like asshole, shit and tits and I still can't believe it, but they do, and it totally goes with the show. Rent season 1. Season 2 will be on DVD soon, since the show was just picked up for a 3rd season. TrashyPantz will keep you posted on when Season 2 will be out, as well as when Season 3 will begin.

SURVIVOR:GUATEMALA

Thursday, September 15th @ 8pm on CBS
Survivor is the longest running reality show on TV, going into it's 11th season. Not sure of the tricks they might pull on the first episode, but one contenstant, Gary, is an ex-NFL player who played for the Dallas Cowboys for 8 years. There is also a serious Jersey Guy, so you know I have his back.

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT

Monday, September 19th @ 8pm on Fox
The Bluth family returns with it's antics that have scored them some Golden Globe awards, and a whole bunch of Emmy Nominations. Great show, great humor, and if you need more info, click on the link above or email the author of Ruff Rant's (link on the side bar)and he can fill you in, he LOVES this show, as should all of you!

LOST

Wednesday, September 21st @ 9pm on ABC
One of my most favorite shows on TV is back, and is debuting its season 2 opener on my birthday... best gift EVER. Fans of this show are frantically filling up message boards and trying to find out the meaning of the mystery numbers as well as where the hatch leads (see Oceanic Air posting so you can look for clues!). I am interested in seeing the hobit back on heroin, "Give me back mmmmyyyyy druuuugs!" and hearing Hurley say "Dude", and am extremely interested in sawyer and jack, they don't have to say anything, at all, as long as they get a good amount of face time on my TV.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

Sunday, September 25th @ 9pm on ABC
Watch women who live in nice houses, some don't even work, who are all too good looking to live that close to each other, continue to try and figure out why their neighbor killed herself. It's the more adult version of The O.C. and I love it! It's no Melrose Place, but it's darn close!

CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM
Sunday, September 25th @ 10pm on HBO
Larry David is back with his mostly improv'd half hour show on HBO. Either you love this show, or you hate this show, but I have to let you know that it is on. I love it, which is why it's on TrashyPantz, and if you haven't seen it, give it a shot. The man wrote Seinfeld and was George Steinbrener in some episodes. What's not to love?

AMAZING RACE 8

Thursday, September 27th @ 9pm on CBS
Amazing Race is on it's 8th journey around the world, this time it's families competing. All the families vary in ages, some have 10 year old kids, some have 30 year old kids...Personally, I think that having such a wide range causes an uneven playing field, but I would love to see a 10 year old have to eat spicy russian soup and then take 6 shots of vodka, but that's just me.

Also check out new episodes of:
THE OFFICE on NBC
DRAWN TOGETHER and SOUTH PARK on Comedy Central
