Trump: I blame Martha for my show's decline

Not only is Martha Stewart to blame for the poor ratings for her Wednesday “Apprentice” spinoff, she also caused the ratings fall-off for the Thursday original. So claims “Apprentice” host Donald Trump in an ABC radio interview with David Blaustein airing today. Trump says that confusion over both NBC shows and which nights they air has eaten into his ratings. His show remains in its same Thursday 9 p.m. timeslot; “The Apprentice: Martha Stewart” airs Wednesday at 9 p.m. “There was a lot of confusion [with] people that wanted to watch 'The Apprentice.' And a lot of people were even upset that this was done. But I really feel that there was a certain amount of confusion which hurt the original 'Apprentice,'” Trump says. “The Apprentice 4” is averaging a 4.9 adults 18-49 rating, down 32 percent from last season’s 7.2 at this time. Each season of the reality show has seen declines. Trump said it’s up to him, producer Mark Burnett and NBC whether Stewart’s struggling show will return.
